Glenda G. Cox

Glenda G. Cox, 74, of 1433 Lusk Run Road, Mill Hall, died Thursday, July 12, 2012, at her home surrounded by friends and family.

She was born on March 27, 1938, in New Mexico, the daughter of the late George B. Garrett and Mary E. Garrett, who survives in New Mexico.

Following high school, Glenda attended Eastern New Mexico University for two years.

On Sept. 19, 1957, she married Dr. Kenneth M. Cox, who survives.

In addition to her husband and mother, Glenda is survived by five sons, Michael K. of Allentown, Richard M. of Orefield, David E. (Deanna) of Hanover, Dr. Lawrence G. (Brenda) of Lewisberry and Daniel J. (Amy) of North Carolina; a daughter, Deborah D. (Doug) Desmond of Clintondale; a brother, Lewis (Barbara) Garrett of Texas; two sisters, Ila Kay (Howard) Blackston of Colorado and Nancy Jespersen of New Mexico; fourteen grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, James H. Garrett.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012, at the Flemington United Methodist Church, 225 High St., Flemington, with Major Daniel Hilty officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the church. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lock Haven Salvation Army Church or the Lock Haven University Boxing Club.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington.
