The real choice

July 5, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

In answer to Dan Mason's "Argument Made," he states that Jesus would pick pro-choice. Jesus always allows people to make their own decisions.

What Mr. Mason doesn't understand is that choices can be right or wrong. A young girl is told by our country that it is okay to get an abortion, that you are too young to raise a child and you have too much to look forward to before you raise children. What they don't tell the young girl is that after she gets that abortion she will feel the emptiness and sorrow of ending a life.

And yes, it is a life at moment of conception. She will feel this sorrow all of her life. Yes, Jesus gives us free will, but in His word, he also cautions us as to the choices we make. We have all made choices in our life that we regret terribly and it would be nice to have a responsible adult tell all of the consequences of a decision like abortion.

God is there whether you want to believe in Him or not. He is giving you your choice to believe or not to believe, to follow Him or not to follow Him.
