A wide array of special events and activities are planned on and around the July 4 holiday throughout the West Branch of the Susquehanna River valley.
Following is a day-by-day list through next weekend:
Today
JERSEY SHORE - Evensong Vespers Service at 7 p.m. on the stage of the Town Meeting grounds on Thompson Street.
Monday
JERSEY SHORE - Town Meeting ribbon cutting ceremony at 5:45 p.m. Arm band night from 6 to 7 p.m. for deals on rides all night. Entertaining the crowd will be the Fairplay Brass. The Corral, a country and western band, performs 7 to 10 p.m.
Tuesday
The Williamsport Crosscutters are having a patriotic ball giveaway for the first 1,000 fans, and a stars and stripes cap auction.
Cutters players will be outfitted in special, limited-edition New Era caps, which will be autographed and auctioned off during the game at 7 p.m.
JERSEY SHORE - Town Meeting arm band night continues. Ride up to 10 p.m. Entertainment by Snug from 6 to 10 p.m.
MONTGOMERY Fireworks display at dusk from the Montgomery Community Park. Firefighters will have a concession stand open and Montgomery Emergency Management Agency will be selling hot dogs and barbecue at the park pavilion beginning at 4 p.m.
Independence Day
WILLIAMSPORT?- St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 142 Market St., will celebrate Independence Day with refreshments at 6 p.m. and a patriotic program in the nave at 7:30 p.m. featuring Jungwha Kim, director of music and organist.
The church lawn offers prime viewing after the program for the city's fireworks.
SONESTOWN - The Endless Mountains War Memorial Museum's annual tribute to Vietnam War veterans will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There will be a special tribute for Paul McMahon, of Dushore, who was killed while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division.
There will be artifacts on display, and veterans are invited to bring memorabilia and share their stories. There is no admission fee.
JERSEY SHORE - Jersey Shore Tiadaghton Elm Ceremony at the Town Meeting grounds sponsored by the Jersey Shore Lions.
Event starts at 10 a.m. and features Fair Play Men re-enacting the signing of their own declaration on the same day the Continental Congress signed the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia.
MILLVILLE - Millville Independence Day Parade at 10:30 a.m. The event also marks the 75th anniversary of the Millville Fire Co.
MANSFIELD - Parade at 4 p.m. followed by activities at Smythe Park with food, games, and fireworks at dusk.
TIOGA HAMMOND LAKE Fireworks over Hammond Lake after dark. Tioga Central Railroad train departs at 8 p.m.
JERSEY SHORE - Covert Action from 6 to 10 p.m. at Town Meeting grounds.
MILLVILLE - Lower level fireworks display at 10 p.m. from the Little League field.
Thursday
JERSEY SHORE - Town Meeting grounds open at 6 p.m. At 6:15 p.m., the Grand Parade begins. At 7:30 p.m., the Town Meeting Baby Sweetheart is crowned, an event sponsored by Lota Lota Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
At 8 p.m., the Tiadaghton Queen ceremony will be held. Entertainment by Phil Reeder from 8:30 to 10 p.m.
FRIDAY
JERSEY SHORE - Town Meeting grounds open at 6 p.m. Chris Ruble Band, sponsored by Town Meeting, from 6 to 10 p.m.
GALETON - Red Suspender Weekend begins. Vendors, food and activities.
SATURDAY
JERSEY SHORE Town Meeting grounds open 6 p.m. "A Magnificent Fireworks Show" begins at 9:30 p.m. Best view is from the Town Meeting grounds. Entertainment from 6 to 10 p.m., Chris Ruble Band.
MILLVILLE - Classic rock band performance, Alive & Well, at 7:30 p.m. followed by fireworks display at midnight by Pyrotechnico.
GALETON - Fireworks over the lake in center of the borough at dusk.
