Police: Woman caught stealing rum

June 29, 2012
Williamsport Sun-Gazette

After grabbing a bottle of Captain Morgan Parrot Bay Fruit Passion rum and sticking in her purse, Bonnie Jean Kline left the Wines and Spirits Store, 449 Hepburn St., without paying for it on Saturday night, city police alleged in court papers.

Kline, who turned 48 on Wednesday, did not get very far.

Patrolman Donald Barrett Jr. nabbed her near Elmira and Edwin streets and took her into custody. Already on probation for shoplifting, Kline, of 1014 Memorial Ave., was automatically placed in the Lycoming County Prison on a probation violation.

She was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge James Carn on the new shoplifting offense and recommitted in lieu of $12,500 bail.
