Mr., Mrs. Donald Armstrong observe 65th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Donald E. Armstrong, Williamsport, observed their 65th wedding anniversary June 21, 2012.

They were married by the Rev. J. Ray Houser at St. Mark Lutheran Church. They are members of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Muncy.

Mrs. Armstrong, the former Mary McQuillen, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Mary and Charles McQuillen. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1941. She retired in 1977 from the city treasurer's office as a secretary.

Mr. Armstrong, a Johnsonburg native, is the son of the late Anna and Percy Armstrong. He graduated from Johnsonburg High School in 1940 and from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, in 1950. He served three years in the 42nd Rainbow Division of the Army during World War II. He retired in 1984 from GTE Sylvania as an engineer.

They are the parents of one son, Don, Mountaintop, and two daughters, Mary Lou Hartsock, Williamsport, and Cynthia Armstrong-Goodrich, Daytona, Fla.

There are three grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, the couple will be honored at a family dinner.
