The Rev. and Mrs. James Bechtel, Muncy Valley, observed their 30th wedding anniversary May 29, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Gerald Scott at Washington Assembly of God Church, Washington, N.J. They are members of Rock Run Church, Muncy Valley
Mrs. Bechtel, the former Kathryn Tarpey, is a native of Phillipsburg, N.J. She is the daughter of the late Anna and James Tarpey. She graduated from Phillipsburg Catholic High School in 1977 and received a degree in nursing from Somerset Community College, Somerset, N.J., in 1982. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Bechtel, a native of Lancaster, is the son of Carol and Mayo Bechtel, East Berlin. He graduated from Delaware Valley Regional High School, Frenchtown, in 1977; Rutgers University, New Brunswick, N.J., in 1982; and received a master's degree in divinity from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, Mo., in 1990. He is employed by Rock Run Church, Muncy Valley, as pastor.
They are the parents of a son, James II, King of Prussia, and a daughter, Rebekah Chappuis, Duncannon.
In honor of their anniversary, a trip to Rhode Island was taken in May.
