There has not been an arson fire in the city in nearly a month. But the perpetrator of the fires in April and May has not been caught. So more arsons are a daily threat to Williamsport.
That means the fear expressed by one resident at a recent town meeting on the topic remains.
And that means, more than ever, that eyes and ears and observation from residents, particularly in the city's West End, needs to be at a higher level than ever.
This situation needs to be rectified, plain and simple, and that takes everybody - residents, police and fire investigators - working together.
