Mary Louise Bateman, 85, a resident of Norwood and a former resident of Prospect Park and Sharon Hill, died on June 5, 2012, at Vitas Hospice at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, Pa.
Born in Shamokin, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Helen Bateman.
Mary Louise was employed as an administrative assistant at Dun & Bradstreet for many years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of the Norwood United Methodist Church where she served as the sexton for a period of time.
Mary Louise was predeceased by her daughter, Mari Kay McCarthy; and her sister, Jean M. Williams.
She is survived by her sister, Betty Durrwachter.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 10, at 7 p.m. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be on Monday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at Orchard Hill Cemetery in Shamokin Dam, Pa.
