Mr. and Mrs. John H. Zay, Williamsport, observed their 65th wedding anniversary June 7, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. John J. Piontek at Holy Rosary Church, Newberry. They are members of St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Mrs. Zay, the former Betty White, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Mary and Leon (Bialek) White. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1942.

Mr. Zay, a native of Wilkes-Barre, is the son of the late Celia and Chester Zazycki. He graduated from Coughlin High School, Wilkes-Barre, in 1942 and the former Williamsport Technical Institute, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, in 1951. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was employed by Allied Building Products for 30 years as vice president and general manager. He was a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Columbus for 45 years.
They are the parents of one son, John K., South Williamsport and one daughter, Nancy M., Williamsport.
There are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a special blessing was offered at mass and a family celebration was held at Roseview Court.
