The Williamsport/Lycoming County Crime Commission was developed to assist the city residents in finding solutions to the crime issues that impact our daily lives. It was not an organization to negate the intentions or efforts of others, but to work collaboratively with all organizations who strive in their tasks for the betterment of Williamsport and surrounding areas. This is our mission.
The organization was founded by Mayor Steven Cappelli's administration as part of the Mayor's Advisory Committee. This committee under the direction of the president William Sechler in accordance with Ronald James established the Williamsport/ Lycoming County Crime Commission. The Williamsport/Lycoming County Crime Commission has been in existence for the past 20 years. The Crime Commission has reached out and provided support to numerous administrations with active participation and solutions.
It appears that the outlook of citizens and civil service personnel through interactions is that the commission is unwilling to collaborate with others in the community. This notion is utterly false. The Williamsport/Lycoming County Crime Commission's focus is to continue to reach out and provide support to finding solutions to any crime problems that exist in Williamsport.
