JERSEY SHORE Two Williamsport brothers face charges for their alleged involvement in robbing a boyfriend and girlfriend in their Allegheny Street apartment on the night of March 31, according to the Tiadaghton Valley Regional Police.
Deon Jordan Henderson, 20, and Shakoor Rahman Henderson, 19, both of 424 Rural Ave., have been arrested for illegally entering an apartment shared by Harry "Trey" Braim III and his girlfriend, Cassie Shea, at 260 Allegheny St.
The two, along with Nadir Jamil Edwards, 17, of 721 High St., Williamsport, went to the apartment building about 9:15 p.m., apparently looking for Braim, who reportedly owed Edwards money, an officer said in an affidavit.
Shea heard a knock on the locked front door followed by the doorknob turning, police said. Believing it was Braim returning from an errand, she unlocked the door.
Suddenly she, and two friends who were visiting with her, were faced with three men, two wearing masks and a third armed with a handgun, who walked in and demanded money, police said.
Since Shea had no money to give them, the three bandits decided to wait until Braim returned, police said. When he came through the front door about 30 minutes later, the three robbed him of his wallet, which had $130 in it, and fled, police said.
While two of the men wore masks, Edwards, who reportedly had the handgun, did not, police said. The two females visiting with Shea recognized him since they had all attended school together, police said. Edwards was arrested three weeks after the robbery and remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
Deon Henderson was arrested last week while his brother, Shakoor, a student at Lock Haven University, turned himself in Wednesday afternoon. The two each were arraigned before District Judge Jerry C. Lepley on conspiracy charges to commit robbery, burglary, felony trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property. While Deon remains jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail, his brother was released on $25,000 bail.
An earlier Sun-Gazette story incorrectly reported that the apartment was in Williamsport.
