Roundup: Millionaires shut out Milton and earn top seed in softball playoffs

Williamsport softball closed out the regular season Monday with a 2-0 win at Milton. Druscilla Heller tripled home Kaitlyn Caringi and scored on a Tiana McCormick single in the fifth inning. Alexis Bower struck out 10 and allowed 5 hits in the win.

The Millionaires also earned the top seed and bye in the District 2-4 Class AAAA playoffs. They will play the No. 5 Abington Heights at No. 4 Delaware Valley winner on May 29 at a time and place to be determined. The other half of the bracket has No. 6 Scranton at No. 3 Hazleton and No. 7 Valley West at No. 2 Wallenpaupack.

In baseball, Williamsport earned the No. 5 seed and will visit No. 4 Delaware Valley on Wednesday at 4:30. The winner plays at No. 1 Valley West on Friday, May 25 at 4:30. The other half of the bracket has the No. 6 Wallenpaupack at No. 3 Scranton winner visiting No. 2 Hazleton.
