After a great regular season led by Taylor Parker on the mound, Warrior Run clinched a No. 1 seed in the District 4 Class AA softball playoffs, set to begin on Tuesday. The Defenders get an automatic first round bye and don't play until Thursday.
In baseball, Loyalsock took a No. 1 seed while South Williamsport earned a No. 2 seed. In the first round of the Class AA baseball field, No. 10 Montoursville travels to No. 7 Wellsboro at 4:30 p.m. The winner of that game advances to play at South Williamsport on Friday.
On the Class A side, No. 6 St. John Neumann faces No. 3 Sayre while No. 5 Muncy travels to No. 4 Sullivan County on Tuesday. Montgomery earned the No. 1 seed and faces the Sullivan County/Muncy winner.
Jersey Shore and Milton are the lone representatives on the Class AAA side, not playing until next Wednesday.
In Class A softball, Muncy earned a No. 3 seed and hosts No. 6 St. John Neumann on Thursday. No. 5 Montgomery travels to No. 4 Wyalusing.
The No. 10 Lancers travel to Lourdes Regional on Tuesday in the Class AA field, while No. 11 South Williamsport goes to No. 6 Wellsboro.
Finally in Class AAA, both No. 2 Milton and No. 1 Jersey Shore advance automatically to the semifinals next Tuesday.
Only the winner advances to the PIAA state tournament in Class A and AAA baseball and all softball classes. Two teams advance in Class AA baseball to the PIAA state tournament.
Williamsport has qualified for the District 2-4 Class AAAA?tournament in baseball and softball, but those brackets are not out.
