Library to hold e-book class

MUNCY - The Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., will hold an e-book class from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday. Participants will learn step-by-step instructions on how to download free e-books from the library's website to an e-reader or other device. Registration is required and can be made by calling the library at 546-5014.

Detachment to hold next meeting

The Williamsport Detachment Marine Corps League will hold its monthly Detachment meeting beginning at 7:30 p.m. May 17 at the Detachment Headquarters, 507 Cemetery St.

The meeting is open to active duty and honorably discharged Marines and Navy Corpsmen.

Garden club to hold plant sale

The Montoursville Garden Club will hold its annual plant sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 19 at Indian Park, Montoursville.

Donations of plants must be brought to the park by 8 a.m. that day with a label of plant species and color of flower.

The sale is open to the public. There will be a great assortment of flowers, vegetables, bushes, trees and bulbs. The proceeds will go to the garden club to help keep the public gardens in the borough in beautiful condition.

Bowl for a Cure event set May 20

A Bowl for a Cure fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. May 20 at Faxon Lanes. The event also will feature a 50-50 and Chinese auction.

Quilt Guild to plan road trip

In honor of Mother's Day, the Susquehanna Valley Quilt Guild will take their meeting on the road to Bloomsburg at 5 p.m. May 24 at Balzano's Italian Kitchen, 112 E. Main St. At 7 p.m., the group will go to Fabrics Galore Quilt Shop, 58 E. Main St.

All members are encouraged to carpool and a reward will be given to any driver with four or more quilters to a vehicle.

Members interested in attending should meet at the Park and Ride at the Halls Station exit along Route 180 before 4 p.m.

Members are reminded to bring their "BOM," Fifty Four Forty or Fight.
