The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life is an overnight celebration of life and cancer surviorship. Teams work hard throughout the year to raise money before the big event. Yard sale scheduled at school
The Jackson Relay For Life team will hold a fundraising yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson Elementary School multipurpose room, 2500 Newberry St.
Zumba party set at high school gym
A Zumba party fundraiser to benefit Relay For Life will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the South Williamsport Area High School gymnasium. Proceeds will benefit Team Tina and the Relay For Life of Williamsport. The cost to participate is by $5 donation. Refreshments will be provided.

Pool tournament to benefit team
JERSEY SHORE - The fourth annual Doubles Scottish Pool Tournament will be held Saturday at the Jersey Shore Moose Family Center, 207 N. Main St.
Registration is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. The tournament starts at 5:30 p.m. and benefits the Relay For Life of Jersey Shore.
Bus trip to benefit Jersey Shore team
JERSEY SHORE - A "day on your own" in New York City is planned for Saturday. Tickets are $45 with all proceeds benefitting the Jersey Shore Relay for Life.
The bus leaves from the Williamsport K-mart at 6:45 a.m. and drops off at Radio City Music Hall. Participants will have about 8 1/2 hours on their own in the Big Apple.
Maps and information on special events will be provided. Light snacks and drinks will be served on the way home.

2 Zumba parties set in Jersey Shore
JERSEY SHORE - The Be Fit and Fabulous Relay For Life team will hold two Zumba fitness party fundraisers, one from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at the Old Paint Mill, and the other at 6:30 p.m. May 4 at the Elks.
A $10 donation is requested on Sunday and the party will feature Niki Snyder, Ashley Campbell, Carolyn Ludwig, Lori Markle, Deb Moore, Vicki Dalton and Tanya Berfield, along with crafts, vendors, live music, refreshments and smoothie bar.

Pampered Chef fundraiser
JERSEY SHORE - Cable Services Co. Relay For Life team will hold a Pampered Chef fundraiser 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 5 at Gamble Farm Inn.
The team will take orders for Help Whip Cancer products.
The team also will donate 15 percent of their sales of these items to the Relay For Life of Williamsport.

The semi-annual Little League yard sale to benefit the Little League Intentional Walkers Relay For Life team will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 5 in Recreation Hall in the Little League International Grove.
Donations can be dropped off before the sale at the Dining Hall from 5 to 7 p.m. May 3 and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 4.

The Williamsport Relay For Life annual yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. May 5 in the Divine Providence Hospital auditorium.
Hair salon to donate sales
Martino's Hair Salon in the Loyal Plaza will donate 20 percent of its total sales to the Mama's Family Relay For Life team from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. May 16.
Bowl for a Cure set May 20
A Bowl for a Cure fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. May 20 at Faxon Lanes.
The event also will feature a 50-50 and Chinese auction.

Church group raises funds for Relay
JERSEY SHORE - The Avis United Methodist Church Relay For Life team has been raising funds for the Relay For Life of Jersey Shore over the past year.
The team has sold cookbooks, sunflowers, Christmas wreaths, sandwiches, had a soup and sandwich luncheon, a chicken parmesan dinner and sold items at the "Market at the Middle" event at Jersey Shore Area Middle School. This year's event will be held from 2 p.m. May 11 to 2 p.m. May 12 on the Jersey Shore Area High School track.
The Avis team will sponsor a Chinese auction with a variety of baskets to take a chance on. Tickets are available by calling Sherry Steppe at 398-8712.
Strike Out Cancer Day planned
MUNCY VALLEY - Katie's Country Store will host a Strike Out Cancer Day fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 12.
The Laporte Women's Club's Relay for Life Team, The Laporte Lappers Red Sox, will team up with Deb and Rich Fry, owners of Katie's Country Store, to host a fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Ten percent of the day's sales will be designated for the American Cancer Society. The Red Sox Relay Team will have a baked goods sale.
In addition, the day will be divided into innings and a box of Cracker Jacks will be given to the customer who arrives closest to the beginning of each inning, which will begin on each hour.
The Relay For Life teams in Sullivan County have adopted the theme "Strike out Cancer" and each team has selected either a Major or Minor League Baseball team for their name.

STPR rally set in Tioga County
WELLSBORO - The Keystone Kops Relay For Life team will hold a Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally on June 1.
This is a time-speed-distance rally designed for any legal vehicle, within the speed limit, on high-quality paved and unpaved roads in Tioga County.
