Women's club sets brunch theme
The Christian Women's Club of Williamsport, affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries, invites all area women to a brunch entitled, "Jewel of a Brunch," from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the Community Baptist Church, 87 N., Montoursville.
Gloria Feralio will present special music and speak about "How Your Life Can Have a Happy Ending."

Library to hold financial program
McEWENSVILLE - The Montgomery House Warrior Run Area Public library will offer a "Money Smart Week" program at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the library at 20 Church St.
This family program is to help parents and caregivers prepare their children to be financially smart.
Family friendly activities will be used to teach how to be prepared for their financial future in small steps that can begin today.

Quilt guild to hold meeting
PENNSDALE - The Susquehanna Valley Quilt Guild will hold its next meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, 659 Village Road.
The program for the evening features Valeria Hill from Val's Quilting in Wyalusing.
Hill is a gifted long-arm quilter and will present a program titled, "Tips, Techniques and More," along with a trunk show.
Members are reminded to bring the April BOM,"Spring Pinwheels." Colors are white on white with five different bright prints.

Library to hold historical program
MUNCY - The Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., will hold a historical program about the town of Exchange at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Author and historian Mary Hickey Brouse will share the interesting history of the small local village of Exchange, including exciting bank robberies and the 1972 flood. Brouse will have copes of her book on Exchange for purchase after the program.

Society plans luncheon
LEWISBURG - The Susquehanna Chapter of the Pennsylvania Mayflower Descendants Society will hold a "Dutch treat" luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Country Cupboard.
Anyone who wishes to join the society is asked to bring any necessary documents to the meeting.

Garden club to hold next meeting
The Montoursville Garden Club will hold its Arbor Day celebration at 1 p.m. Friday at the Memorial Garden of the Montoursville Cemetery, Broad Street.
A ceremony opening with an inspirational poem, "Just a Common Soldier," read by Ruth Kissell, will set the mood for patriotic songs led by Bonnie Seltzer.
Musical selections will be presented by violinist, Sarah Myers and guest speakers will be Gene Yaw and Don King.
A red bud tree will be planted by the club. Committee chairwoman for the day will be Louise Courtney assisted by Ruth Kissell, Betty Under, Lisa Logue and Nancy Machinski.
SPCA to host Pins for Paws
The Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is hosting its third-annual Pins for Paws - Bowl for the Animals from 2 to 4 p.m. May 6 at Faxon Lanes, 1225 River Ave.
The money raised from the event will be used to provide care for the more than 4,000 homeless and abused domestic animals the shelter serves every year.
Participants who raise additional pledges beyond their registration fee for the event will be eligible to win prizes.
Registration is due Friday.
