Mr., Mrs. Ralph E. Zeigler Sr. observe 70th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Zeigler Sr., Williamsport, observed their 70th wedding anniversary March 1, 2012.

They were married at Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.

They are members of St. Mark Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Zeigler, the former Elda C. Emigh, is a native of Warriors Mark. She is the daughter of the late Laura M. and James C. Emigh. She graduated from Warriors Mark High School. She retired from Lundy Lumber Co., as a receptionist.

Mr. Zeigler, a native of Altoona, is the son of the late Anna J. and Oscar B. Zeigler. He graduated from Altoona High School and attended Penn State University. He served in the Navy during World War II as an aviation metalsmith (1st class) 1C Fleet Air Wing 6. He worked for The former Williamsport Technical Institute, now Pennsylvania College of Technology, from 1940 to 62 as a sheet metal instructor and retired in 1982 from the State Department of Education, Harrisburg, as a vocational adviser.

They are the parents of two daughters, Gloria Z. Greevy and Barbara Z. McCullough, and a son, Ralph E. Jr., all of Williamsport.

There are six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In honor of their anniversary, a family celebration is being planned.
