Black history speaker set at Center

In celebration of Black History Month, the Center, 600 Campbell St., will feature orator Mel Reid at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

From Washington, D.C., Reid will speak about black men who served as soldiers during the Civil War. The public is invited to attend.

Reid will share his collection of artifacts from the same period. A photographic display of old Williamsport will be available for viewing from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. that day and during the evening program.

The activity celebrates Black History Month, as well as the 150th anniversary of the Civil War (1861-1865).
