Mr. and Mrs. Paul Markle, Williamsport, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 20, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. Robert Greaves in Pine City, N.Y., and are members of Lycoming Christian Church, Linden.
Mrs. Markle, the former Yvonne Louise Buffington, is a native of Jersey Shore. She is the daughter of the late Lillian and Howard K. Buffington. She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1961. She retired in 2007 from Lycoming Career and Technology Center, Hughesville, as a secretary.

Mr. Markle, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Salena and the Rev. Fernwood Markle. He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1961 and retired in 2009 from Loyalsock Township School District as facility manager.
They are the parents of three daughters, Debra Shellman, Cogan Station; Pamela Taylor, Harleysville; and Christine Saar, Hughesville.
There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In honor of their anniversary, a dinner celebration was held Dec. 26, 2011.
