Announcement has been made of the engagement of Sara Elizabeth Guthrie, Montoursville, and Zachery Andrew Bender, Altoona.
A 2013 wedding in Montoursville is being planned.
Guthrie is the daughter of Victoria and Marc Guthrie, Montoursville. She graduated from Montoursville Area High School in 2008. She is pursing a bachelor's degree in art education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she also is pursing certification in special education.

ZACHERY A. BENDER
Bender is the son of Terri and Chris Bender, Altoona. He graduated from Altoona Area High School in 2007 and attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He is employed by the Army with 214 Fires Brigade, 2/5 Field Artillery, Bravo Battery, Fort Sill, Okla., with five years of service (three years in the National Guard and two years active), current rank E-5 (sergeant).
