Mr. and Mrs. James W. Shifflett observed their 60th wedding anniversary Jan. 21, 2012.
They were married by the Rev. George Davidson at Hepburn Baptist Church.
Mrs. Shifflett, the former Vera M. Vollman, is a native of Cogan Station. She is the daughter of the late Mildred and Alfred Vollman. She graduated from Williamsport High School and is a homemaker.

Mr. Shifflett, a native of Cogan Station, is the son of the late Annie and Walter Shifflett. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and retired from Lonza Inc.
They are the parents of two sons, J. Randy and Daniel L., both of Williamsport. There are four grandchildren, three stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, an open house will be held at 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at Hepburn Baptist Church.
