Announcement has been made of the engagement of Alicia Artley, Pennsdale, and Sam Shaffer, Hughesville.
A June 2013 wedding in Muncy is being planned.
Artley is the daughter of Sandra and Dennis Artley, Pennsdale. She graduated from Muncy High School in 2006 and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg University in 2010. She is employed as a substitute teacher.

SAM SHAFFER
Shaffer is the son of Joyce and Craig Shaffer, Hughesville. He graduated from Hughesville High School in 2008 and received an associate degree in architectural technology from Pennsylvania College of Technology in 2010. He is employed by Larson Design Group as an architectural technician.
