Melissa Anne Godfrey, South Williamsport, and Christopher James Allen, DuBoistown, were united in marriage at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011.

DuBoistown Mayor Louis Plankenhorn officiated at the ceremony held at Haywood's on the Water, where a reception also was held.

A rehearsal was held at Jeremiah's, above the Bullfrog Brewery.

The bride is the daughter of Debora and Mark Godfrey, Hershey, formerly of South Williamsport. She graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 2003 and received a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Bloomsburg University in 2007. She is employed by Santino's Italian Cuisine, South Williamsport, as a waitress, and also is a substitute teacher.

Allen is the son of Mary and James Allen, DuBoistown. He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 2003 and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Florida International University, Miami, Fla., in 2008.

Maid of honor was Laura Varjassy, Nazareth.

Bridesmaids were Mindy Godfrey, sister of the bride, and Sarah Richards, both of South Williamsport, and Kimberly Pifer, Ephrata.

Junior bridesmaid was Allaryn Smith, South Williamsport.

Flower girl was Gianna Godfrey, South Williamsport, niece of the bride.

Ring bearer was Connor Smith, South Williamsport.

Best man was Matthew Allen, DuBoistown, brother of the bridegroom.

Ushers were Jordan Isenberg, South Williamsport, and Shawn Joy, Topeka, Kan.

Following a trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., the couple is residing in Newberry.
