Mr. and Mrs. Zdzislaw Kordecki, Cogan Station, will observe their 40th wedding anniversary Dec. 23, 2011.
They were married by Chaplain Earl Peden at Kirkland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, N.M.
Mrs. Kordecki, the former Deborah Vicki Cliver, is a native of Oak Park, Ill. She is the daughter of Marlene Cliver, Marengo, Ill., and the late Earle Cliver. She graduated from Elk Grove High School, Elk Grove Village, Ill., in 1970 and the Army Medic Program in 1971. She retired in 1973. She enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam era. She is a homemaker.

MR., MRS. ZDZISLAW KORDECKI
Mr. Kordecki, a native of Hamburg, Germany, is the son of Helga Kordecki, Miamisburg, Ohio, and the late Stefan Kordecki. He graduated from West Carrollton High School, West Carrollton, Ohio, in 1969 and received a bachelor's degree in education from Murray State University, Murray, Conn., in 1979. He also received a bachelor's degree in business from Mansfield University in 1987 and a master's degree in business from Bloomsburg University in 1990. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era and transferred to the Navy for a commission. As a reservist, he was called and served in Operation Desert Storm. He retired from the Navy in 1998. He was employed by the State Correctional Institute, Muncy, and retired in 2001.
They are the parents of a daughter, Sara Marie, Pittsburgh. There is one grandson.
In honor of their anniversary, the couple is planning a trip to New York City.
