Announcement has been made of the engagement of Courtney Duffield and Matthew Smith, both of Jersey Shore.
An Oct. 6 wedding at the Antes Fort home of the bride's grandparents is being planned.
Duffield is the daughter of Stacy and Damon Duffield, Avis. She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 2003 and received an associate degree in medical secretarial science from Newport Business Institute in 2007. She is employed by Precision Drilling as an operations administrative assistant.

Smith is the son of Karen and Harold "Chuck" Smith, Williamsport. He graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 2004 and is employed by National Sporting Goods, Jersey Shore, as an assistant manager.
