Mr. and Mrs. Robert Alberts, Williamsport, are observing their 40th wedding anniversary today, Nov. 13, 2011.
They were married by Dr. Thomas Hopkins and Dr. William Alberts, uncle of the bridegroom, at Pine Street United Methodist Church. They are members of a church in Williamsport.
Mrs. Alberts, the former Debra Haines, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Jennie and Raymond Haines. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1969. She was employed by Williamsport Regional Medical Center from 1976 to 2003.

Mr. Alberts, a native of Williamsport, is the son of Kathryn Alberts, Nisbet, and the late Jack Alberts Sr. He graduated from South Williamsport Area High School in 1970. He served in the National Guard from 1970 to 1976. He was employed by Lysock View for 16 years and has been employed by Divine Providence Hospital for 22 years.
They are the parents of two daughters, Angela, Williamsport, and the late Karen. There is one granddaughter, Erin Brandt.
