Mr. and Mrs. George Ocker, Montoursville, observed their 40th wedding anniversary Oct. 16, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. William Martin at Bethany Lutheran Church, Montoursville. They are members of Pine Street United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ocker, the former Virla Marie Sides, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of Aleda Sides, Williamsport, and the late Donald Sides. She graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 1970. She is employed by Hillside Senior Living Community as a community relations director.

Mr. Ocker, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Ruth and George H. Ocker. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1967. He was self-employed with Ocker's Heating and Fuel Oil, retiring in 1992 and is employed part time at B&S Picture Frames Inc.
They are the parents of a daughter, Tami Lynn Ocker, Smithsburg, Md. There is one grandson.
In honor of their anniversary, a cruise to the western Caribbean Islands was taken.
