Couple observes 40th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Steven C. Britton, Newberry, are observing their 40th wedding anniversary today, Oct. 9, 2011.

They were married by the Rev. Hugo Schroeder Sr. at Messiah Lutheran Church, South Williamsport.

Mrs. Britton, the former Krystie Rothermel, is a native of Montoursville. She has been employed by Lycoming Nursery School for 18 years.

Mr. Britton was employed by Williamsport Moving Co. as the director of operations for 39 1/2 years. He now is employed part time at North Central Sight Services.

They are the parents of two daughters, Master Sgt. Kellee Burns, Poquoson, Va., and Keir Scholes, DuBoistown, and two sons, Roth, Palm Coast, Fla., and Senior Airman Steele, Washington, D.C. There are six grandchildren.
