Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eck, Williamsport, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 23, 2011.
They were married by Monsignor Frank P. McHugh at Annunciation Catholic Church. They are active members of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Mrs. Eck, the former Mary M. Pfoutz, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Ethel M. and Jesse M. Pfoutz. She graduated from the former St. Joseph High School in 1956 and worked in the circulation department of the Grit for 11 years.

Mr. Eck, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Magdalena and Eugene Eck. He graduated from the former St. Mary High School in 1956 and took courses in electrical at the former Williamsport Technical Institute, now Pennsylvania College of Technology. He served in the Navy from 1956 to 1962 aboard the USS Joseph K. Taussig. He is employed by Beiter's, South Williamsport.
They are the parents of four daughters, Michelle Croucher and Jennifer Eck, both of Williamsport, Lisa Fenstermacher, Addison, and the late Nichole, and a son, Joe, Indianapolis. There are 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a trip is being planned.
