Mr. and Mrs. Paul J. Butters, Williamsport, observed their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 23, 2011.
They were married by Monsignor Leo J. Post in Williamsport. They are members of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Mrs. Butters, the former Frances Mae Kase, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Doris and James Kase. She graduated from the former St. Marys High School in 1962. She is a homemaker.

Mr. Butters, a native of Williamsport, is the son of the late Mary and Paul Butters. He graduated from Loyalsock Township High School in 1962. He retired from Wolf Distributing Co., York, in 2006, where he was employed as an account representative.
They are the parents of five daughters, Marcia Confer and Paula Hornberger, both of Montoursville; Taryn Gordon, El Dorado Hills, Calif.; Jodi Nolan, South Williamsport; and Veronica Lepley, Millersburg; and five sons, Tim, Proctor; Tom, Indianapolis, Ind.; Mark, South Williamsport; Joe, Williamsport; and Stephen, Reading.
In honor of their anniversary, a party, hosted by their children, was held Sept. 23 at the Acacia Club.
