Mr. and Mrs. R. Lee Woodhead, Montoursville, are observing their 45th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 18, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. Melvin Whitmire at the former First Evangelical United Baptist Church. They are members of Warrensville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Woodhead, the former Margaret Shultz, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of Myra Shultz, Montoursville, and the late Woodrow T. Schultz. She graduated from Montoursville High School in 1965. She was a rural letter carrier for 30 years and retired in 2008 from the Montoursville Post Office.
Mr. Woodhead, a native of New Albany, is the son of the late Lavinna and Frank Woodhead. He graduated from Estella High School in 1960 and attended the former Williamsport Technical Institute, now Pennsylvania College of Technology. He served in the Army from 1962 to 1965. He was employed by G.E. Logue for 24 years and then went into business for himself in 1984. He retired in 2002.
They are the parents of three sons, Thomas, Montoursville; James, Oklahoma City, Okla.; and David, Moresville, N.C. There are seven grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a fall trip is being planned.
