Mr. and Mrs. Dale R. Smith, Hughesville, will observe their 60th wedding anniversary Sept. 15, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. Harold Washburn at Muncy Baptist Church. They are members of Christ United Methodist Church, Hughesville.
Mrs. Smith, the former Sylvia Rogers, is a native of Muncy. She is the daughter of the late Vida and James Rogers. She graduated from Muncy High School in 1948 and retired from GTE, Montoursville, in 1984.

Mr. Smith, a native of Coal City, Ill., is the son of the late Ruth and Emanuel Smith. He graduated from Hughesville High School in 1948 and retired after 40 years of employment from the former Koppers Co. Inc., now Andritz Inc., Muncy.
They are the parents of two daughters, Kathryn Hart, Raleigh, N.C., and Sandra Smith, Ithaca, N.Y. There is one granddaughter and a step-granddaughter.
In honor of their anniversary, a family gathering will be held this month.
