Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Kaufman, Pennsdale, are observing their 40th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 11, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. Charles Heaps at Bethany Lutheran Church, Montoursville, where they are members.
Mrs. Kaufman, the former Cheryl Lynn Kahler, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of the late Jean and Albert Kahler. She graduated from Montoursville Area High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College, now Pennsylvania College of Technology. She is employed by Sears, Lycoming Mall, Muncy.
Mr. Kaufman, a native of Williamsport, is the son of June Kaufman, Watsontown, and the late Carl Kaufman. He also graduated from Montoursville Area High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College. He graduated from Luzerne County Community College. He served in the Navy on active duty for six years, and in the Pennsylvania National Guard for seven years. He retired from Alcan Cable in 2010.
They are the parents of two sons, Kristopher, Nelson, and Brian, serving in the Air Force in Germany.
In honor of their anniversary, a trip to Germany was taken.
