Mr. and Mrs. Michael and Sherry Herritt, Avis, are observing their 35th wedding anniversary today, Sept. 4, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. Joseph Fox at Immaculate Conception Church.
Mrs. Herritt, the former Sherry Steinbacher, is a native of Williamsport. She is the daughter of Mary Cole, South Williamsport, and the late Joseph Steinbacher. She graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1977 and is employed by Lock Haven University as a secretary and supervisor.

Mr. Herritt, a native of Jersey Shore, is the son of Betty Herritt, Hummelstown, and the late Paul Herritt. He graduated from Jersey Shore Area High School in 1976. He is the owner and manager of Your Hometown Market, Avis.
They are the parents of one daughter, Nicole, and two sons, Matthew and Nathan, all of Avis. There are four grandchildren.
In honor of their anniversary, a cruise is being planned for December.
