Mr. and Mrs. Norman J. Crider, Williamsport and Spring Hill, Fla., observed their 70th wedding anniversary Aug. 16, 2011.
They were married by the Rev. A.G. Herr at Martha Baptist Church, Centre County.
Mrs. Crider, the former Julia Cronister, is a native of Centre Country. She retired from South Williamsport Area School District, where she was employed as an English and French teacher for 32 years.

Mr. Crider is a native of Jersey Shore. A World War II Purple Heart recipient, he participated in five battles, one of which was the Battle of the Bulge in the European Campaign. He retired from Pennsylvania College of Technology.
They are the parents of a son, Larry M.
In honor of their anniversary, a luncheon was held.
