Schwanbeck-McDonald

Keirsten Eva Schwanbeck and Derek Ryan McDonald, both of Boulder, Colo., were united in marriage at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2011.

The Rev. Kevin P. O'Reilly officiated at the ceremony held at Church of the Ascension, St. Joseph the Worker Parish.

A rehearsal dinner was held at the Valley Inn, DuBoistown, and a reception was held at the Genetti Hotel's grand ballroom.

The bride is the daughter of Debra and Thomas Schwanbeck, Williamsport. She graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 2002. She received a bachelor's degree in music performance: cello, from Hope College, Holland, Mich., in 2006, a master's degree in music performance: cello, from Penn State University in 2008 and a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Denver, Denver, Colo., in 2011. She is employed as a freelance musician and librarian.

McDonald is the son of Denise McDonald, Somerset, and Dr. Cary B. McDonald, Mesa, Ariz. He graduated from Somerset High School in 2001. He received a bachelor's degree in music performance: trumpet from Penn State University in 2008, and a master's degree in music from the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colo., in 2011, where he is pursuing a doctorate in trumpet and pedagogy. He is employed by the University of Colorado as a graduate teaching assistant and also is a freelance musician.

Maid of honor was Katarina K. Schwanbeck, Williamsport, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Ashley Day Schwanbeck, Williamsport, sister-in-law of the bride, and Danielle McDonald, Charlottesville, Va., and Michelle McDonald, State College, both sisters of the bridegroom.

Flower girl was Aviana K. Zambrano, Williamsport, niece of the bride.

Ring bearer was Eli Ross, Asheville, N.C.

Best man was Andrew Ross, Asheville.

Ushers were Graham T. Schwanbeck, Williamsport, brother of the bride, Brendan Irving, New York City, and Louie Eckhardt, Grand Island, Neb.

Following a cruise to Bermuda, the couple is residing in Boulder.
