Legal does not necessarily equal right. Besides, where's the LEGISLATION, passed by Congress and signed by a President, making this procedure legal? Courts do not LEGISLATE, courts ADJUDICATE. You see, we have three branches of federal government; LEGISLATIVE writes LEGISLATION, JUDICIAL interprets and ADJUDICATES laws passed by the LEGISLATURE, EXECUTIVE approves and EXECUTES the laws passed by the LEGISLATURE. So again I ask, where's the LEGISLATION making this procedure LEGAL? The organization in question actually provides few services, aside from referrals, for other than abortion services. It's fairly inexpensive to send somebody needing a mammogram, pap smear, STD testing, etc. to the proper place for treatment, diagnosis or testing. 3% for abortion? NO WAY!

John- $100 to ensure that no woman is FORCED to carry a fetus to term? Maybe she should have gone to PP for her million dollar birth control or maybe a 50 cent ******. It would be her own responsibility (how libs hate that word) to insure that she won't get pregnant. Of course, with all those free abortions, who has to worry about being responsible. FIVE HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS- incredible!

Wknapp.. perhaps you should take a moment and research pp to see the number and extent of services they provide..it includes paps tests, mamograms, std services, and, yes, 3% of what they do is abortion services. Legal abortion services..

Yes, john.. I believe the percentage of abortions in terms of overall services is closer to 3%, not 90%.But, given the fact that you don't trust pp's numbers, doubtless don't trust President Obama's and likely place your faith in conservative news sources, the the point is really irrelevant, no? Essentially, your mind is made up..

3%? Really?? For a business which appears to have as its motto, "No baby ever born!"? How does a business that specializes in murdering helpless babies issue such figures without being laughed into oblivion? The business' name is a classic misnomer, since it should be Avoid Parenthood, or maybe Dead Babies 'R' Us. As far as believing the 'O', BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Good joke! You almost had me on that crap!

John Zook: I just made a $100 online contribution dedicated to your name: "Donate to ensure no woman is forced to carry a pregnancy to term because she’s short $100. Donate to the National Network for Abortion Funds today to help make sure that no woman is forced to carry a pregnancy to term because she doesn’t have the money for an abortion."

There, just saved you some of your tax money...

Buff- Planned Parenthood provided their own numbers. I would agree that number may, may be high but I don't trust PP's numbers anymore than the IRS trusted Al Capone s tax return, or Barack Obama's employment numbers. But, HALF BILLION DOLLARS for heath services?!

Hi John.. you sound like Jon kyl, who famously claimed on the floor of the Senate Well over 90% of what PP does is provide abortions.. that statement was proven to be patently false, so much so that Jon kyl had it stricken from the public record. My own view on abortion is my opinion, when it comes to anyone else, its none of my business. Its a legal procedure..

Buff, your talking about children's lives. Women don't have puppies, cans of Spaghetti-o's, alarms clocks, or baby bottles. A woman reproduces a human being and at six weeks has a heart beat and brain activity. Something you Libs obviously lack......

Correction- That number should read $500 million in the year 2012. A half a BILLION dollars, for contraception??!! 90% of their services are abortions. Obama has really been good to them. Of course, he's for killing the baby if the child lives through the abortion. Prove me wrong Libs. "That's a lie" just don't cut it.................

After a Google search, it appears 42% may be innaccurate but very close, suprisinginly higher than I would have ever guessed. To which, I would respond, abortion is a legal procedure, therefore 42% of NYers are perfectly legally allowed to have one.. or more, if they choose.

Hi John.. I noticed you completely dodged the question about the source for the 42% comment.. also, as has been noted ad nauseum on this forum, the Hyde Amendment specifically prohibits federal funding for abortion. To be clear, the procedure is legal and there is a law against federal funding for the practice. Might I suggest you research the topic before you make remarks, stupid or otherwise?

Buff- Taxpayers DO fund abortions. The abortion mill called Planned Parenthood receives over $500,000 every year of taxpayer money. For what? Birth control? And it's minorities who get them. Google it before you make stupid remarks. It won't show on the Daily Kos. And what do Christians have to do with it? Most of these abortions, I would imagine, are for young teenage girls, no matter if they are Believers or not. That's how it was when I was a kid and even before that.

Bufftrev1, if you were responding to my comment, I didn't say taxpayers were paying for abortions, i was refering to birth control.Unless, of course, you view abortion as a form of birth contol(as some do)
