Close, Erik.. it was horrible that bush sent our troops to Iraq. It is equally horrible that thousands of them subsequently died.. unnecessarily.

Ummmm... where to begin with this particular piece of crap... Based on the best intelligence, from EVERY credible intel source in the WORLD, going into Iraq was exactly the CORRECT THING TO DO. It's very easy, and even SIMPLE, such as the opinions of the radical idiots on the left, to look back, with 20/20 hindsight, and find fault with a decision already made. Had the intel been correct, and Bush did nothing, then he'd be getting slammed, by the same fools who slam him now, for ignoring the intel. Crybabies such as they are tend to whine perpetually about things that if the indicators show something to be one way but turn out differently, say they never believed the experts, regardless of their actions and responses while the original evidence is presented.

He should have ignored them like a liberal!

Chuck: 'They have lost their collective minds and have become extremely petty and small.'

This coming from someone who has lost his own mind.

Conservatives in government take trips all the time and the taxpayers foot the bill. The right is crying over nothing as usual. They have lost their collective minds and have become extremely petty and small.

Contrast that with our vice-president's expenses on his recent trip to France." - Joy Hawkes

This is a poor letter. First, the world is a much different place in 2013 than it was in 1960, Second, Norway doesn't matter in world affairs, so its officials are a much less desirable target than a US official. Third, I doubt very much that Norway's ambassador flies second class anymore. I'm glad the author wasn't trying to make a point that I support.

Of course that was 1960, very doubtful that the ambassador does now.

What makes you think that the staff, military, and secret service that is accompanying our leaders is a freebie.

Exactly, spike. I don't care what party or interest a pol pretends to represent, they are all scumbags who think we work so they can remain in office.

Although Ambassadors are important, the position is not equal to a Vice-President."Our pols think they are entitled royalty and that we peasants should fill govt coffers so they can lead a life they could never attain in the private sector due to their lack of intelligence, marketable skills and integrity." Kind of like our local members of Congress, wink, wink.

Pity the poor fellow that had to sit next to Joe Biden for a twelve hour flight! I dare say that the Vice President's life would probably be in jeopardy from an overriding desire to choke the old geiser to death just to shut him up......and thats only if the guy were a devoted Democrat!
