"Mississippi Senator intriduces bill making it a felony to introduce gun control legislation" Actually it is Missouri Rep. Mike Leara. Kind of proves my point of republicans and stupid."
Oh my, rick found something to hold against a republican! Considering the 2 posts on the proposed DUMBOCRAT bills on gun control, Leara's bill is pathetically inconsequential to say the least.
I would say it "kinda proves" democrats are well beyond stupid when it comes to gun laws!

Sorry Ron K.,I'm not buying your self-fulfilling prophecy banter.God and the Constitutions 2nd amendment gave me the right to own a gun a long time ago.For me Ron K.,that will never change. I do not care what the boys and girls in DC or any other state including this one does to think they are going to take my guns.Pass all the laws you want about guns;I'll still have mine period.

From Examiner****
From the liberal state of NY!!!
A bill was introduced in the State Assembly by Felix Ortiz (D-Brooklyn) that would require citizens of New York to acquire liability insurance as a condition to gun ownership.
Bill S2353 will require all gun owners in NY to obtain and “continuously maintain” insurance coverage of at least $1 million, or they will suffer “immediate revocation of such owner’s registration, license and any other privilege to own” a firearm.
If the citizen fails to obtain the insurance, then by simply owning the firearm, they will be in violation of the law.
It is estimated that the required $1 million liability policy would cost a holder $1600-2000 annually.
If the bill is passed, gun owners will have 30 days to get the insurance.
(And libs complained that voter ID would cost $10, hurting the poor and elderly?)

"The paranoia and ignorance regarding gun regulation exhibited in letters and subsequent comments in your paper is alarming."
It is not paranoia since we have proof that confiscation and disarmament of certain citizens is desired by some elected officals.
The letter is just another attempt to silence anyone who stands up for their human right to self-defense.

Mr. Reeder defends Hitler's policy because he would like to duplicate the same with conservatives and anyone else who does not agree with him.

Many US politicians (at all levels) have called for registration and confiscation of firearms.
Liberals are no longer hiding behind "reasonable restrictions", they just want to duplicate what has taken place in every other nation where the gov't turns against some of the people.

To clear the Nazi thing up for Chuck I will give you the history of gun control in Germany. Total gun registration was done in the Weimar Republic (Germany) before the Nazis came into power. That registration data was used by the Nazis to disarm any group of people that Hitler thought might be a threat. First it was the Jews and all 'non-citizens'. After that it was by neighborhood or town or even family. This information comes from an anti-gun website so if it is skewed it would be in favor of the Nazis. Hitler killed 11 million people in his camps. Only 6 million of those were Jews. I'm quessing that the other 5 million weren't armed when they were sent off to the death camps. So Chuck, he did disarm the people. Maybe not all of them, but many if not most. The key here is that after they were disarmed, they were first deprived of their rights and later their lives.

Guns are no defense for a woman! Therefore, the University of CO Dept. of Public Safety recommends:
Be realistic about your ability to protect yourself.
Your instinct may be to scream, go ahead! It may startle your attacker and give you an opportunity to run away.
Kick off your shoes if you have time and can't run in them.
Don't take time to look back; just get away.
If your life is in danger, passive resistance may be your best defense.
Tell your attacker that you have a disease or are menstruating.
Vomiting or urinating may also convince the attacker to leave you alone.
Yelling, hitting or biting may give you a chance to escape, do it!
Understand that some actions on your part might lead to more harm.
Remember, every emergency situation is different. Only you can decide which action is most appropriate.
Drink!

So the Jews were denied weapons to protect themselves by the German government.
How did that work out for them?

Enigma the Nazis did not disarm the public they armed them. The only ones not allowed weapons were the members of the Jewish faith. They also could not manufacture any weapons either. The German people were disarmed after WWI by their government not the Nazis.

Buff,"Aren't states rights something conservatives are always clamoring for?"
Yes they are as long as they do not violate the rights laid out in the Constitution. You see here's the order: Individual rights, States rights and what's left (which isn't much) is left for the federal government. Progressives want to turn that around, which leaves very little for the states and nothing for the individual.

For those of you who keep saying that nobody is talking about confiscating guns. Missouri has a bill that would required confiscation of assault weapons and California has a bill that will ban and confiscate all semi-automatic weapons. That would include most handguns. The one in California has a good chance of passing. Hopefully, it won't stand up in court, but with the courts we have now, you never know. So don't tell me it's not about confiscation of guns.

Rick424,"I am tired of the gun crap, ban them for all I care."
I'm tired of the gun crap too. It is settled in the 2nd Amendment, but that doesn't seem to matter to some. Ban them all? What other rights do you want to just throw out the window because you're tired. Maybe free speech because you're tired of hearing other people's opinions. Maybe we should be able to beat confessions out of suspects, because we're tired of them getting off. Maybe the police should be able to search your home just because they want to because they're tired of having to get a warrant. I'm tired of having to fight the government to keep the rights God gave me, but I will continue to fight for my rights and your rights to say stupid things like 'ban them all'. Gun bans don't reduce violent crime, they just reduce freedom.

Chuck,"The Nazis did not disarm the public. They came into power because they were voted into power."
Are you really that stupid or is this an act? Of course they didn't take away guns before they came into power, that wouldn't even be possible. They did disarm the public after they took power. It didn't happen all at once, it took time, but it did happen. The scary part is that the arguments were exactly the same as the ones being used now by many of you.
