As Cave Felem just alluded to, since when does any industry ever absorb cost increases without passing them on to the consumer? Therefore, how on earth can the Sun-Gazette make the ridiculous statement: "But there is a limit to what those in the gas industry can afford to pay for the product they provide"?

"At a certain point, that payment will be reflected at the pump."
When the wholesale cost increases, it will be reflected on the pump price immediately. The consumer will pay the difference, no one else.
And as a bonus, everything that is delivered to a store using liquid fuels will cost more as well.
How much more can working people pay before they just throw their hands up and give up? At some point, it won't be worth working 40+ hours a week for the same take home pay that just gets eaten up by increases year after year.
