Francine I dont have any one bedrooms but if a family takes in a homeless family member especially with little ones as a landlord it is hard to put chidren out on the street in February, It takes at least 3 months to evict someone from the day of posting,Thats the law not landlords looking the other way.

It's really hard for me to form a real opinion on this because I still just don't understand the point of this whole 'registration' thing that the Mayor is trying to get into place.

I also agree with the editor. Put the pressure on landlords to keep things straight...if they don't, put a mechanism in place to fine them. Make the landlords register a rental..give them codes guidelines...get a copy of their lease agreements...make it their responsibility.

I tend to agree with the editor on this one. It's certainly an invasion of privacy, and it does have a distinct George Orwell feel to it. On the other hand, the reality is Philadelphia has restocked a great deal of our population in recent years and with it a great deal of it's problems. Since the landlords have always been responsible and often times look the other way when there are 5 adults in a one bedroom apartment, should we expect anything to change unless we force it with a requirement like this? I don't know, I really don't.
