FF Live - Closer Committees in the Central
After consistent ninth-inning meltdowns, struggling closers Jason Isringhausen and Eric Gagne have been removed from their roles indefinitely. Filling the void both inept pitchers are leaving will be the dreaded closer by committee scenario for both teams. Both Tony La Russa and Ned Yost have declined to name a replacement closer, but of both committees, the guys you want to own are Ryan Franklin in St. Louis and Guillermo Mota in Milwaukee. Franklin has great ratios so far this season, and while he doesn't strike anybody out, he seems to get the job done. Think of Troy Percival and you've got Franklin. For the Brewers, Mota has some limited experience in the role, has good stuff, and has pitched well to this point. Franklin has the most value of the two, as Milwaukee's situation is much murkier and harder to predict than St. Louis', but if you're desperate for saves, they're worth a look.
