Police: Neighbors nab suspected burglar leaving city residence
Neighbors were credited with catching an alleged burglar late Thursday afternoon as he was carrying items out of a Washington Boulevard home, city police said. James Francis McKee III, a 45-year-old homeless man, was held by neighbors until officers arrived and took him into custody for allegedly breaking into the home of Eugene Place at 933 Washington Blvd. about 5 p.m. McKee was apprehended as he was carrying a chain saw, binoculars, a clock radio and an umbrella out of Place’s back door, Patrolman Roy Snyder said. Following his arraignment before District Judge Kenneth T. Schriner Jr. on charges of burglary, felony trespassing, theft and receiving stolen property, McKee was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in default of $17,500 bail.
