Lobar to repair leaky roof at Wellsboro High School
WELLSBORO – Lobar Inc. of Dillsburg will repair the leaky roof at the Wellsboro Area High School at its expense, district officials said Tuesday. The roof has leaked since its installation in 2004. Last month the board took no action on three base bids for removal and replacement of the roof, ranging from $1.29 million to $1.39 million, including one from Lobar, at $1.36 million. In May, the board voted to have Lobar, which was the general contractor for the construction of the new high school, proceed with the needed repairs for the roof under the terms of the original contract. At that time, Waber said, that meant the bids were on hold and that “the general contractor will be repairing the roof at their cost.” “Basically, it’s warranty work,” Waber said at the school board work session. Removal of the roof could begin as soon as next Wednesday. The district and Lobar already have held a pre-work conference. The subcontractor is A.J.
