Rainy weather returns

Rain clings to a tulip, adding a little color to an otherwise dreary day in Brandon Park on Friday.
Area residents will need their umbrellas this week, when rainy weather hits the Williamsport area at the beginning and the end of the week.
A “slow-moving storm system” will be moving through today, causing rain showers, cooler temperatures and a slight breeze, according to Craig Evanego, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in State College.
Today’s high is expected to be in the mid 50s, which is low for the middle of May.
“It will generally be pretty raw,” Evanego said.
Due to the rainy conditions, Monday morning commutes may take extra time, so drivers may want to start out a little earlier than normal, Evanego said. But, he does not expect major problems from fog, which should accumulate into “nothing really dense.”
The skies should clear up for Tuesday and Wednesday, which are forecasted to be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid 60s to low 70s.
