Lioness Club to celebrate 14th charter anniversary
JERSEY SHORE — The Jersey Shore Area Lioness Club recently celebrated its 14th charter anniversary.
District Gov. Kerry Drake; Past District Govs. William Byran, David Hunter and Raymond Hill; and Kathy Douty, Lioness associate; Lions, Lioness and guests attended the event.
Drake commended the club for its community involvement and annual donations to District 14-G projects and local charitable and nonprofit organizations.
Lioness Angie Boncal received the Multiple District 14-G Lioness of the Year award. Drake commended her for her accomplishments and years of service.
Each District 14-G Lioness Club may submit the name of one member who meets the criteria and is an outstanding member. Boncal is a past president and is the club secretary.
Hip Hop showcase slated for July 19
A “Hip Hop for Real Change” youth showcase will be held July 19 at the Center, 600 Campbell St.
Auditions for the showcase will be held July 11 and 12. Registration is required at the Center. Tickets will be available June 30.
Junior League of Williamsport announces board
At its annual dinner meeting in May, the Junior League of Williamsport voted in the new board for 2008-09 league year.
