Take a hike with the Alpine Club

The Alpine Club of WIlliamsport will hold several public hikes this spring. Those interested should contact the appropriate hike leader in advance.
* June 8: Gas Line Ridge, about six miles. Transportation fee, $3. Leader, Bob Webber (no phone). Meet at 8 a.m. Bob Webber, a retired forester and great naturalist, will lead hikers up Naval Run past the waterfall to Jerald Hollow. Weáll then make a steep, slow-paced ascent up Jerald Hollow to the Black Forest Trail. Webber will show some of the beautiful vistas he created and introduce us to his spouse at their humble mountaintop home before we descend the Black Forest Trail to our starting point at the Naval Run Parking Area.
