Local youths qualify for PJW state tournament

The 2012 Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling state tournament kicks off Friday at Hersheypark Arena and 30 local competitors will vie for state medals in four age classifications.

Among those having qualified is Muncy's Rachel Warburton, who will compete in he 11-12-year old bracket at 115 pounds. Two years ago Warburton became the first girl in the nearly 50-year history of the PJW tournament to qualify for a state final.

Also among the qualifiers is Montoursville's Gavin Hoffman, a two-time state champion, having won titles in 2011 and 2010.
