Montoursville-Loyalsock 5th-inning update

May 15, 2010 - Chris Masse

8:02 p.m.: Feels like the momentum has defintely swung Montoursville's way as Russell is hit by a pitch to lead off the inning. Interesting decision for Keefer who has Clark up in a bunting situation but who is 2 for 2 with a triple and a RBI.

8:06: Good pitching from Noyalis who retires Montoursville's 2-3-4 hitters in order and leaves Russell stranded at first. Just as important, Noyalis throws only eight pitches in the inning and is at 70 through five.

8:09: Now it looks like Loyalsock has the momentum as Tyler Pinkertonl leads off the bottom half with a first-pitch single. You can bet the ranch Jackson Person will be bunting here.

8:12: Person does try to bunt but ends up reaching first on an error. That brings up Stephen Stopper who tries for a bunt, but misses. Here's thinking he will be swining away from here.

8:15: Yet again, Stopper delivers, hitting a RBI single into left-center field and giving Loyalsock a 4-3 lead. Seconds later Travis Singer starts a crucial double play.

8:19: That double play keeps Montoursville in the game as Karschner strands two runners and induces an inning-ending's fielder's choice. Loyalsock 4, Montoursville 3.

Montoursville  101 10--3 5 1

Loyalsock       201 01--4 6 0
