Time to dump a toxic year

December 31, 2009 - LLee Janssen
It's already 2010 in parts of the world. What will it bring this way?

How about some honest self-assessments of our needs. For instance, isn't it time that we all look at our futures and start sharing the collective wealth, rather than everyone just looking out for themselves?

Money is tight all over, yet costs are rising ever faster. So why, when the trend has been for private enterprise to do away with pension contributions in order to stay in business, does the public sector get to mandate that taxpayers give even more money over to help fund their pensions? When Social Security finally fails, what happens to those who have nothing but that?

Heavy questions to ponder as a new year starts, but questions that many are asking. This is not fair, Mr. Government. It's time we change the way your business is done.

Not much I can do but save for my own future. Or find a government job.
